At Manchester Driver Training we recognise that some people:
- Purchase their own motor vehicle in advance of passing their driving test.
- Hold a full driving licence and require refresher lessons in their own vehicle.
We can provide driving lessons for any pupil who wishes to use their own car.
The following courses are available:
Provisional Licence Holder’s Course
If you would like to learn to drive as a provisional licence holder in your own vehicle you will need the following:
- A roadworthy motor vehicle.
- A valid Insurance Certificate.
- A valid Mot Certificate. (If applicable)
- Road Tax.
- Dual Controls for safety.
There is a specialist service whereby a dual control supply company & fitter can come to your home address and fit dual controls directly in to your vehicle.
This takes around 2 Hours. Costs vary dependant upon vehicle. Prices start from around the £300+ mark.

Dual Controls can be removed once you no longer have any use for them.
Costs for provisional licence holder’s driving course, starts from £39 per hour dependant upon postcode area.
Full Licence Holder’s Course
If you hold a full driving licence and require refresher lessons or motorway lessons in your own vehicle, you will need the following:
- A roadworthy motor vehicle.
- A valid Insurance Certificate.
- A valid Mot Certificate. (If applicable)
- Road Tax.
As you are a full licence holder you will not require dual controls as you have achieved the entitlement to drive by yourself.
Full licence refresher lessons are priced from £39 per hour dependant upon your postcode.
Motorway lessons are priced from £39 per hour dependant upon your postcode.
